Three suspects are on the run, after allegedly punching a mother in the face and robbing her home, as her son was home.

“And she said they had her down on the ground with guns at her head,” a neighbor said. They didn’t want to be identified because of what happened.

Elk Grove Police say a female suspect rang the doorbell at a home on Springhurst Drive early Wednesday morning.

The woman who lives at the home did what most would do and opened the door.

As she opened the door, a man came in and punched her in the face. Another man followed him in, armed with handguns.

Police say the suspects ransacked the home and stole several items.

The victim’s 10-year-old son was home, and watched the scene unfold.

Neighbors watched as the three suspects got into a silver Nissan Altima and sped off.

Neighbors say it wasn’t too long ago when a home across the street was burglarized. But it was not as brutal as the attack Wednesday morning.
