The combination of the Bachelorette finale and the accompanying After the Final Rose interview special was enough to net ABC an easy win on Monday night — though both programs were down from 2013.
At 8 p.m, the two-hour finale brought a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49. Though steady with last week, it was down 27 percent (seven-tenths of a point) from the 2013 finale. After the Final Rose tied American Ninja Warrior as the night’s top-rated telecast with a 2.1 rating in the key demo. It was down just 16 percent from last year.
NBC premiered its second new series starring survivalist Bear Grylls in the last year. Running Wild With Bear Grylls (1.4 adults) premiered on par with last summer’s Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls. At 9 p.m., American Ninja Warrior (2.1 adults) rose two-tenths of a point to tie The Bachelorette postmortem.
A steady MasterChef averaged a 2.0 rating with adults under 50. Hotel Hell (1.5 adults), also even, wrapped the night for Fox.
It may still have been at a live-plus-same-day low, but Under the Dome held even with last week’s 1.5 demo rating despite the boosted competition. It was the lone original for the night on CBS.
And on The CW, the Young Hollywood Awards were even with last year’s 0.3-rated telecast.
