Just before the plug was pulled on Fox’s X Factor in February, boyfriend-girlfriend duo Alex & Sierra made history as the only group to win the U.S. version of the singing competition.
Now, seven months later, the couple is about to release its Columbia/Syco debut, It’s About Us on Oct. 7, and The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive sneak peek with the unreleased track, “Here We Go.”
The song opens with Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton trading vocals on the lyrics “Tell me now what you want / Tell me now, tell me now, don’t stop,” before teasing each other to “come closer” against a pulsing beat.
The twosome, who gained popularity as a modern day Sonny and Cher with covers of A Great Big World’s “Say Something,” penned the track with co-writers Ruth Anne Cunningham and producers John Shanks and Julian Bunetta, who also produced and engineered the track.
For the album, the duo worked with multiple songwriters and producers, including Toby Gad (Beyonce), John Legend, Sam Hollander (Neon Trees, Gym Class Heroes) and Bunetta (One Direction).
