Fairfield Police and FBI agents investigate a body found in a canal on federal land.

FAIRFIELD-

The body of a woman was found in a Fairfield canal Thursday morning.

Police were called around 8 a.m. after the body was found in the Putah South Canal on North Texas Street.

The FBI is assisting Fairfield Police in their investigation because the body was found on federal land.

There is no identification on the woman, and no indication how long she has been there.
