A Stockton woman was hit by a car while crossing the street early Wednesday morning, according to Stockton police.

Around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning, a woman was crossing the street in Stockton at Golden Gate Ave and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. A car hit her, killed her, and then the driver drove off before police arrived.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white, mid to late 80’s sedan with major damage to the front of the car.

The collision blocked both the westbound and eastbound lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and the lanes were closed between Golden Gate Ave and Mariposa Rd.
