It looks like boy band Emblem3 may have to consider changing its name to Emblem2.
The group announced on its website on Saturday that founding member Drew Chadwick has left to pursue a solo career.
“We’re sad to see Drew go but he will always be our brother, and we couldn’t be happier for him as he starts his new journey as a solo artist,” the band wrote. “Drew sends hugs out to all the Emblems.”
The band — comprised of brothers Wesley and Keaton Stromberg — placed third on the second season of The X Factor, and were signed to Simon Cowell’s label, SYCO, via Columbia. In 2013, their debut, Nothing to Lose, debuted at No.7 on the Billboard 200 with 46,000 copies sold. Two singles, “Chloe (You’re the One That I Want)” and “3,000 Miles,” were released.

As of May, the group is no longer listed on the Columbia Records roster, but have announced plans to release a new record.
Although this news may have come as a shock to the group’s fans, the Strombergs insist that they will continue with this summer’s schedule of tour dates, which includes the intimate “Fireside Sessions.”
Wrote Wesley Stromberg: “We know many of you may be concerned about what this means for Emblem3, but I can assure you this is just the beginning! Me and Keaton started this band when we were 9 and 11 years old and we will continue making music for our fans. We love you with all our heart. We’ve been working tirelessly on new material and have so much of the new record to share with you on The Fireside Story Sessions starting next week! It’s gonna be so much fun and we can’t wait to hang around the campfire with you.”

Chadwick was cordial on his Twitter page, writing ” I love you and Wes/Keaton. Let’s all stay united. Stay tuned in for June 27th #e3forever.”
Today, he changed his Twitter handle from DrewChadwickE3 to TrueChadwick.
The Strombergs, in the meantime, continue to reassure fans on the Emblem3 Twitter feed. “This DOES NOT mean Emblem3 will no longer be,” they wrote. “The #Strombros started this band when we were 9 and 11 and we aren’t going anywhere.”
