Considering one's own beauty is often difficult. There are images everywhere telling people how to be, how to look, and how to feel about themselves based on how their bodies are presented to the world. The Goddess Project aims to change that by working with women to unleash their inner beauty and consider what beauty means to them, and to realize that all bodies are beautiful.

Recently, the creators of the project released a short film called SHINE. The film depicts 10 women, strangers, who came together for one purpose: to unlock the beauty within them. But instead of discussing this beauty or talking about what beautiful means, all 10 women were asked to strip naked and be painted with bright and vibrant designs. Then they were asked to stand and breathe in nature.

Doing something like this takes a great deal of bravery. Not only to be naked, but to be naked with strangers in a public setting. And while you'd think the video would depict more anxiety than anything else, the views these women are able to share about beauty and body positivity are empowering not just for them, but for all those who are watching. All bodies are beautiful, all people are beautiful, and it is important that we love ourselves.
