It looks like Gordon Ramsay may have one less TV series in his sprawling culinary catalog. The chef and host took to his website on Monday morning, announcing that he won’t be making any more of docu-series Kitchen Nightmares.
“As filming comes to a close on the latest series of Kitchen Nightmares I’ve decided to stop making the show,” writes Ramsay. “I’ve had a phenomenal 10 years making 123 episodes, 12 seasons, shot across 2 continents, watched by tens of millions of people and sold to over 150 countries. It’s been a blast but it’s time to call it a day.”
Kitchen Nightmares originated on the U.K.’s Channel 4 in 2004 before the stateside success of competition Hell’s Kitchen prompted Fox to commission a U.S. version of the show in 2007. Fox does not yet have a comment on what Ramsay’s announcement means for the series, which just wrapped its seventh season.
The loss of Kitchen Nightmares would hardly be noticed on Fox, where Ramsay boasts four other series — several of them already ordered for multiple new seasons. In addition to Hell’s Kitchen and Hotel Hell, both MasterChef and MasterChef Junior are also on the schedule. The latter was broadcast TV’s lone breakout last year.
