Family, turkey, animated corpses … the end of the Thanksgiving weekend also marked the midseason finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Viewers, no doubt, turned out in droves to cap off the holiday weekend with zombies and a notable departure.
It wasn’t an all-time record for The Walking Dead, but the 14.8 million viewers marked a midseason finale high for the series — up 23 percent from the comparable outing (and comparable weekend) in 2013. Among those nearly 15 million viewers, 9.6 million of them were adults 18-49. That’s a 24 percent improvement from the last midseason ender.
The Walking Dead, which still surges in time shifting despite its boffo live viewership, notched a new all-time record in October with 17.3 million viewers and 11 million adults 18-49. (Those stats climbed to a respective 22.37 million and 14.5 million viewers with just three days of DVR.)
