Another night, another championship series.
ABC’s ongoing coverage of the NBA Finals brought game three on Tuesday night, securing an easy win in both the key demographic of adults 18-49 and total viewers.
The game itself averaged a 4.9 rating with adults under 50 in preliminary ratings. That’s steady with the comparable game last year, which ultimately rose to a 5.8 rating. The San Antonio Spurs, which won by nearly 20 points, now lead the series 2:1 over the Miami Heat.
Lead-in Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night saw a smaller showing than typical, averaging a 1.9 rating with adults.
NBC’s second place win, a close one in total viewers with 9.9 million to ABC’s 10.1 million, came courtesy of a new America’s Got Talent — off three-tenths of a point to a 2.6 rating against the competition. One series not stalled by the NBA was Night Shift. The summer drama remains steady with a 1.5 rating in the key demo.
Riot and I Wanna Marry “Harry” were also both steady on Fox, albeit with just a shared 0.4 rating. The duo, while incredibly soft, are at least proving to be even week-to-week.
And soft CW summer premiere Famous in Twelve (0.3 adults) ticked up just a tenth from last week’s debut.
