Oscar Isaac appears to feel the same way that a lot of other fans do about George Lucas‘ recent Star Wars tweaks.
Isaac, who recently starred in Inside Llewyn Davis and has a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, told the Huffington Post that Lucas should have left the original Star Wars alone instead of going back and updating it.
“To go back and kind of tweak it with new stuff, it doesn’t make it more interesting for me as a watcher,” Isaac said, adding that the changes even made the film “less interesting.”

Isaac said he’d “much rather go back and watch the old thing, because it’s a product of the time.” He said that “what made that movie so amazing” is the fact that Lucas made it with the technology of that era.
That said, Isaac acknowledges he “can’t fault” Lucas for the updates: “As an artist, like, he made the shit, so why can’t he do whatever the heck he wants with it.”
Star Wars VII, directed by J.J. Abrams, his theaters Dec. 18, 2015.
