The Agents of SHIELD arc will be the L.A. Law alum’s first visit to the Marvel universe. His more recent credits include earning a Critics Choice nom for Lifetime’s TV movie A Trip to Bountiful. He reprised that role opposite Cicely Tyson and Vanessa Williams for the past few months onstage in in Los Angeles and Boston after spending the summer starring in the Old Globe’s production of Othello. On Broadway, his credits include the starring role as Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire in 2012.
The casting also brings Underwood back into the ABC fold where he starred on Dirty Sexy Money. His credits also include CBS’ The New Adventures of Old Christine and HBO’s In Treatment. He’s repped by ICM Partners and Thruline.
