Family of 4 Found Dead in HomeTURLOCK —

Investigators have determined the identity and cause of death of a family of four found dead in their Turlock home in June.

Around 10 p.m. on June 26, officers the Turlock Police Department went to check on the family—who had not been seen or heard from by others in their family—at their home on Red Oak Court. When they arrived, the officers discovered the elderly couple and their two sons dead.

Officers conducted an investigation into the deaths with the Turlock Fire Department, a forensic pathologist and the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation revealed the couple to be Sarkis Babakhan, 78, and Rozmary Babakhan, 70. The coroner’s office determined the two died as a result of multiple stab wounds from their son, Rodney Bowman, 39.

It was also revealed Bowman, as well as the couple’s other son Robert Babakhan, 42, died as a result of exposure to smoke and toxic chemicals from the fire intentionally set by Bowman inside the home. Robert is described by police as disabled and died from unintentional exposure.

Investigators determined this as an isolated incident, with no threat to the community.
