Emotional morning on the Ray D’Arcy Show

The Ray D’Arcy Show has helped reunite two parents with irreplaceable photos of their son, Kevin, who sadly passed away two weeks ago, aged six days old.

The couple were at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre on Tuesday 26th August when they realised they had lost Kevin’s iPhone. The phone contained pictures of their newborn baby Kevin and were the only photos they had of their son.

Desperate to get the precious images back, mother Una emailed The Ray D’Arcy Show looking for help. Following an interview with Alison Curtis, who was filling in for Ray last week, the show received loads of suggestions from listeners on how to recover the images remotely. Unfortunately, as the images were not backed up, this wasn’t possible.

But Ciaran Lynch, Head of Security at Liffey Valley Retail Park, had heard Una’s plight and during the course of his work the following morning, found the phone in a bin outside. He reported it to Ronanstown Garda Station, who contacted Una.

Una and father Kevin collected the phone last night and thankfully all of the images of baby Kevin are still there.
