STOCKTON-

Six people were shot this weekend near Princess Drive and Duke Lane in Stockton.

The most recent shootings happened around 9 p.m. Saturday. Police say a 30-year-old woman and two girls, ages 11 and 3, were shot while sitting in a car. All three were taken to area hospitals and are expected to recover.

The others happened around 2:15 a.m. Saturday. Three adults in their twenties were shot, one of them, a 27-year-old who police identify as a documented gang member, died. The other two victims are expected to survive.

“Im still terrified, I mean I don’t want to leave,” said Mary Loeur. Loeur lives steps away from both shootings on Princess drive and says she’s scared for her family’s safety now.

“Anytime you have one person shot, that’s bad but when you have six, that’s alarming to us.” said Stockton police spokesperson, Joe Silva.

Silva says the police department understands that residents are worried about their safety. He says there will be extra patrols in the area as detectives work to determine if the two shootings are linked.

No arrests have been made. The Stockton Police Department is asking anyone with information about either shooting to call their crime stoppers hotline at: (209) 946-0600.
