How much is a custom charm?
Customization fee is $7. We do not charge an extra fee for a quote or illustration change on any of the titles currently in our store.
I am an author or I know an author I would like to gift a charm to. Can you do their book in a charm form?
Yes, absolutely! All I need is a quote you're interested in, the cover art for the book, and an illustration/picture to sit across from the quote.
What do you need from me to make a custom charm?
A quote and illustration is usually all we need. For a one "page" quote, try to keep it around 20ish words, or slightly more if most of the words are small. If you'd like a longer quote, I can extend it across both "pages". In this case a 40ish word quote will work. A picture or illustration should be vertical in orientation, or be able to crop to that. If you have a specific cover in mind, let us know about that too, otherwise we'll default to the first edition cover.
I have a birthday coming up and need this charm by a certain date that is earlier than the processing time states. Can I get it earlier?
In most cases we can accommodate this, but we can't always guarantee it, especially during Christmas. It all depends on our volume of orders. Please contact us before you purchase and we can let you know if it's doable or not, which it normally is.
For international customers, we can't guarantee your parcel will reach you on time for your event because each country's shipping time/customs office is different, but we can do our best! :) Please select an expedited shipping service to ensure a faster, more exact delivery.
We cannot accommodate early orders throughout the Christmas holiday season to either domestic or international customers, however.
When will I receive my charm? / Lost mail
Our processing time changes throughout the year based on our volume of orders. Please check our processing time before you purchase to ensure that the charm will make it to you by the time you need it.
You can always check when your order will ship by clicking on "You" in the top toolbar of Etsy, and clicking on "Purchases and Reviews". Select the transaction and it will tell you when the estimated shipping time is.
We are not responsible for packages that are lost/stolen in the mail. If you're nervous about this happening, please contact us and ask for extra insurance on your parcel. Should the worst happen happen, we urge you to file an insurance claim with USPS.
Can I suggest a title that's not currently in your store?
Sure! We're always open to suggestions and enjoy making new titles.
I'd like a different quote on this charm. How do I change it?
All you need to do is put the quote you'd like in the Notes section of your order. For a one "page" quote, try to keep it to around 20ish words. For longer quotes that extend on both "pages" (without an image/illustration), quotes may be 40ish words in length.
How do I care for my charm?
The best way to care for your charm is to keep it enclosed in a jewelry box or the box it comes in when not in use. Give it a wipe down every so often with a soft cloth to remove any body oils that may build up. A soft jewelry polishing cloth, like the one found in our store, can clean and brighten the metal you chose as well. Please note, the charms are weatherproof, but not waterproof. They are made of a heavy papers, and though sealed with a coating to protect it from sun, rain, and general wear, they won't survive a shower or a swim. They're more of an artistic piece of jewelry than than the type of jewelry you never take off. Just as you wouldn't take your pearls or even a book into water, we advise keeping these "books" dry, too! :)
Do these come with a chain?
Though our new collection of locket charms do have chain options on each of the listings, our classic charms do not come with a chain. However, we do carry a variety of gold-filled and sterling silver chains in our store as an add-on purchase to your charm. We also carry earrings, keyrings, bracelets, lobster clasps, bookmarks, and even ornament hangers during the Christmas season!
