Capitol Music Group senior vice president Ambrosia Healy has hired veteran publicists Jennie Boddy and Erin Cooney as vice presidents of publicity. The two had previously worked with the company’s head of media strategy and relations at her indie PR firm The Fun Star, whose client list includes Coldplay, Bastille, Phish and Nine Inch Nails.
At CMG, Boddy and Cooney will be tasked with designing and executing publicity plans for artists across the company’s genre-spanning portfolio of labels, including Capitol, Virgin, Motown, Harvest, Blue Note and Astralwerks. Boddy will be based in New York, while Cooney will work out of Capitol’s Hollywood tower.
Boddy began her career in 1988 as the first publicist for the Seattle-based independent label Sub Pop, designing and implementing campaigns for Nirvana, Mudhoney, Beat Happening and the Afghan Whigs, among others. She joined Interscope Records in 1994, working with such artists as M.I.A., Marilyn Manson, The Hives, Rocket From The Crypt and Tom Jones.
Cooney began her music career in the Capitol publicity department in 2001, before joining The Fun Star 10 years ago.
“Reunited and it feels so good,” said Healy in a press announcement. “I am thrilled to welcome Jennie and Erin into the Capitol Music Group family at such an exciting time for the company. CMG and its artists will immediately feel the positive difference that these two will make to our team.”
