Daft Punk…and Jay Z…on the same track? It can’t be real, can it? Well, apparently it is: “Computerized,” a one-song collaboration between the French electronic duo and Brooklyn rapper, mysteriously made its way online March 10, and Pitchfork has confirmed that the song is legitimate.
Although it has yet to be determined whether or not the song is a leftover from Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail recordings or Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories sessions (or neither), “Computerized” features Jay Z confidently rapping over a shimmering electronic soundscape occasionally punctuated by a sweeping string arrangement. Lest we forget, Daft Punk was responsible for the foundation of “Stronger,” one of the biggest hits of Kanye West‘s career that follows a sonic blueprint similar to that of “Computerized.”
Although West was rumored to have produced the track, Pitchfork confirms that he was not involved with “Computerized.” Plans for a potential release of the leaked track have yet to be announced.
