tower bridge, gala, farm-to-fork, dinner
Caterers set up tables along the Tower Bridge for a Farm-to-Fork Gala, September 29, 2013

SACRAMENTO-

Less than five minutes. That’s how fast the second annual Farm-to-Fork Gala Dinner, on Sacramento’s Tower Bridge, sold out Monday morning.

Tickets went on sale Monday, and the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau said 3,000 people logged on to their online system.

Only a few hundred succeeded in getting tickets to the event, which is just one night of the Farm-to-Fork Festival downtown. The Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau says about a third of the tickets were pre-sold to sponsors before Monday’s online ticket sale.

The Tower Bridge will be closed on September 28 to accommodate about 600 people, noshing on a locally-sourced dinner prepared by more than 30 top chefs in the Sacramento area.

The gala caps off a week of farm-to-fork events, including wine tasting and a festival along the Capitol Mall.
