FXX is using its formidable catalog of Simpsons repeats to launch some new animation. The network announced Wednesday that it will debut a new one-hour block of originals on Jan. 22 — the fruits of Fox’s previously all-digital Animation Domination High-Def.
Fox’s ADHD briefly ran a late-night block of Adult Swim-style cartoons on Saturday nights before moving the series and shorts to a digital hub in 2014. The series bringing new episodes to FXX include Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers.

“We are insanely excited to partner with FXX and help them create a new block of programming for the network,” said ADHD Studios president Nick Weidenfeld. “I can’t think of a better home for our cartoons or a better way to launch the Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quakers than after The Simpsons. 2015 is going to be an awesome year.”
The block, airing at midnight, will initially sample on Jan. 1 after a special marathon of The Simpsons. “Based on the successful launch of The Simpsons on FXX, this is the perfect time to expand our animation offerings and make FXX the after-hours destination for animated shorts and series,” added FX Networks president of program strategy and COO Chuck Saftler.
The only animated original in the FX Networks catalog, Archer, airs on the parent network — so to draw further sampling, FX will hype Lucas Bros. Moving Co. and Stone Quackers following its Jan. 8 season premiere.
Encores of fellow ADHD projects High School USA! and Axe Cop will also air during the block.
