Algoriddim's djay 2 now features a new 'GE Drop Science Pack'

September 16, 2014

Algoriddim has announced a notable update to the company’s popular djay 2 app for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. Version 2.6 introduces an all-new collaboration between Algoriddim and General Electric (GE) that features a bundle of original mechanical sounds.

The free “GE Drop Science Pack” is a byproduct of GE’s recent partnership with musician Matthew Dear to create “Drop Science,” a new electronic track based on sound samples from GE research centers around the world. The pack includes 12 sounds that can be used to remix or mashup songs.

According to Karim Morsy, CEO of Algoriddim:

We’re thrilled to partner with GE to provide djay users with unique sounds that are inspired by GE machines. These sounds will give DJs new ways of expression and we can’t wait to see what our users will come up with.

Full djay 2.6 features include:

  • NEW Sample Pack: Drop Science by GENERAL ELECTRIC
  • NEW plug & play support and optimized UI for all-new Pioneer DDJ-WEGO3 controller
  • NEW setting to distinguish major and minor when key detection is enabled
  • Improved Spotify integration: now BPM and KEY are shown in the media browser (even for tracks that have not been analyzed yet)
  • Improved Spotify integration: songs that you have listened to before are now marked in the library so you can find undiscovered tracks more easily
  • Improved sort by KEY: now tracks with matching keys are highlighted with color
  • Improved sorting: now sort order is maintained when switching iTunes or Spotify playlists
  • Improved Edit Grid: now fixes misaligned beat grids by re-analyzing the track based on the downbeat you set (and optionally your tapped BPM)
  • Improved VoiceOver integration
  • Added FX wet/dry setting for Numark iDJ Pro
  • Fixed crash when selecting certain FX on Numark Mixdeck Quad
  • Lots of bugfixes and overall improvements

The $0.99 djay 2 for iPhone and $9.99 djay 2 for iPad are available to download on the App Store.
