STOCKTON-

A three-year-old girl has died in a car crash along southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Stockton.

Around 1 p.m. Friday, a 2000 Isuzu carrying four people rolled near Hammer Lane after colliding with a 2012 Toyota.

California Highway Patrol officers say the young girl was not properly restrained in the car seat at the time of the accident.

Two other kids in the Isuzu, a 10-year-old boy and a 9-year-old girl, were hurt and taken to UC Davis Medical Center and San Joaquin County General, respectively.

Officers have closed at least two lanes of Highway 99 southbound as they respond to the accident. They estimate to have the highway reopen around 4 p.m.

Highway Patrol did not say if the two people in the Toyota were hurt. Investigators don’t believe alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.
