SACRAMENTO-

California Highway Patrol confirms that Sacramento Kings’ sideline reporter Kayte Christiansen was charged with a DUI Monday night.

Police did not release details about the arrest.

On Tuesday, Christensen released a statement regarding the incident:

“I want to be forthcoming because I deeply regret the choices I made last night. First, I want to apologize to my family because they know this is not behavior that is indicative of my character. I also am sincerely sorry to the Sacramento Kings organization and all our fans who put faith and confidence in me. I accept full responsibility for my actions and am focused on ensuring this never happens again. I will do everything in my power to win back the trust of the public, especially my young fans who regard me as a role model, as well as my colleagues. This is an opportunity for growth for me as a human being and hopefully this situation may also show others how serious this is and prevent them from making the same mistake I have.”
