SACRAMENTO-

Back again for the first time, one of the last times.

“I haven’t even thought about that until now. But yeah you’re right. I guess we’re going to have to find a place downtown,” Mike Chulick, of Auburn, told FOX40.

And as the Kings tip-off, the Giants wrap up.

“So there’s a lot of reasons to be excited,” said Dora Barnes, as her husband was buying game tickets.

Clever fans were doing some serious engineering to get FOX40 and World Series game 7 on the tailgate television, as they get ready for Kings game number one.

And as for how well the Kings need to do this season? Everybody’s got a number.

“I think they need to be over .500 a couple of games at least,” said Isaac Barnes of Sacramento.

That seems to be the consensus.

“They need to get close to .500 to make everybody happy,” said fan Pat Coughlin.

There are no guarantees. But have a free T-shirt compliments of Vivek Ranadive.

No. Serious. Everyone got a free T Shirt.

Amidst all the hype and hoopla of the Kings opener, there was a solemn moment- a moment of silence to start the game for Sacramento Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver who was shot and killed in the line of duty Friday.

“For the Department, this is part of the realization that the community is here for us. The community is here for Danny. The community is here for his wife,” said Lisa Bowman, Spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

Oliver was a first order Kings fan, with season tickets. Today that seat, his seat, was empty and draped in his dress uniform with a single white rose.
