History released a teaser trailer for season 3 of Vikings and fans of the show can expect more blood, more intrigue and more epic battle scenes.
The last season left off with Travis Fimmel‘s character, Ragnar Lothbrok, replacing Horik as King of the Danes after a brutal and intricate coup d’etat. Now King Ragnar, we were left with the image of Fimmel staring out to sea toward England, where he has unfinished business with the conniving King Ecbert of Wessex, played by Linus Roache.

Season 3 should see Ragnar broaden his horizons beyond England, taking on the might of King Charles of France. Series creator Michael Hirst has dropped heavy hints that Vikings may continue until the raiding parties reach America, which promises many more seasons of the violent period drama.
All the main series regulars are scheduled to return, with Katheryn Winnick as the feisty shieldmaiden Lagertha, Clive Standen as Ragnar’s warrior brother Rollo, rising star Alexander Ludwig as Ragnar’s son Bjorn and Gustaf Skarsgard, brother of True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard, returning as the enigmatic Floki.
