As any self-respecting (or disrespecting) follower of Mark Millar knows, Kingsman: The Secret Service, the upcoming movie from Matthew Vaughn, is based on Millar’s comic book mini-series Secret Service.
The comic, drawn by Dave Gibbons, played it pretty straight when compared to some of Millar’s other works: It told of a veteran secret agent, a la James Bond, who takes in and trains a wayward tough from the wrong side of town. (Although it did have some nice Millar flourishes which could be considered too spoilerish to reveal here.)
The trade paperpack, which collects the six issues, is getting a reissue from Marvel tied to the Feb. 13, 2015 release of the Fox movie with a brand new cover.
Heat Vision got the exclusive jump on the cover, which features the movie’s stars — Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, relative newcomer Taron Egerton and Sofia Boutella — and plenty of gun-holding.
The new trade will hit shelves Jan. 14.
