An Elk Grove yogurt shop was robbed at gunpoint early last night.

According to Elk Grove Police, an unknown suspect entered the Tops Yogurt shop on Bruceville Road West Stockton Boulevard brandishing a handgun. The robber demanded money from the employee and when the cash register was opened, he reached over and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash.

The gunman fled on foot and responding officers were unable to locate him. The suspect was described as a black male adult, 5`8", skinny build, wearing a baseball hat, black half-face mask, gray sweatshirt, and light colored pants.

This will sound racist, but why are so many of these robberies in Elk Grove committed by black men? Can you see why police are accused of "profiling?" Do we have any leaders in the black community here in Elk Grove actively working with our young black men? Doesn't appear so.

Anon 12:54, you are assuming these robbers that get away are all from Elk Grove. My guess is a lot of these crimes, by people of all races, are committed by people that are not necessarily from Elk Grove. Think about it, isn't it better to rob a store in a place where the chance of someone in the store knowing you is less?
