David James Elliott is returning to CBS.
The JAG alum has booked a guest role on the network’s freshman hit Scorpion, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Elliott will guest star in an early 2015 episode of the rookie procedural inspired by the life of genius Walter O’Brien. He’ll play Bruce Jones, a former Secret Service agent who turns to Team Scorpion to help recover a 15-year-old buried memory when he becomes the only hope of catching terrorists looking to break into a top-secret U.S. nuclear missile silo.

The character was tasked with protecting President Clinton during his service but was shot in the line of duty, causing a cardiac arrest and anoxic brain damage. Elliott’s role is currently for one episode, but there’s a potential for him to return.
Elliott most recently starred in Fox’s comedy pilot No Place Like Home. His credits include Mad Men, GCB, CSI: NY and Close to Home. He recently wrapped production on Trumbo. Elliott is repped by Gersh and Jeff Goldberg Management.
Scorpion airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
