The Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum noted that he wants to be considered as a potential Late Show replacement for David Letterman, who announced his upcoming retirement last week.

“I’m throwing myself in the mix!” he told Matt Lauer after discussing Rio 2 on Today. “That would be interesting — I don’t know, but I think it’d be a different perspective. We’ll shake the game up. I think Jimmy Fallon needs some competition out there!”
When asked who would lead his late-night band, Morgan responded, “It would be different every night — it might be Drake one night, it might Sly and the Family Stone one night,” he said. “I’m gonna shake it up, be creative.”
Morgan also added that his ideal guest would be “Bruce Vilanch … or the black dude from Magnum, P.I., if he doesn’t work too much. Who knows!” And that his signature signoff would be: “Who’s comin’ wit’ me? I don’t know where I’m goin’, but who’s comin’ wit’ me?”
