RIO VISTA-

Crews responded to a gas leak, reportedly affecting 1,700 homes, Thursday night in Rio Vista.

The leak was reported along Clubhouse Drive at the Trilogy active adult housing development.

A crew was reportedly putting in palm trees at the entrance of Trilogy when they struck a gas line.

The fire department used reverse-911 to tell residents to stay indoors. A PG&E repair crew was expected on the scene around 9:20 p.m.

No one was reported to have been hurt.

The area is known to be windy, which apparently came in handy to dissipate the gas.
