Just in time for Halloween: NBC is preparing to take a humorous look at witches.
The network has handed out a script commitment to an untitled witch comedy from a pair of 30 Rock alums, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The single-camera comedy is about a circle of friends who grow closer when one of them “comes out” to the group — as a witch.

30 Rock‘s Josh Siegal and Dylan Morgan will pen the script and executive produce the comedy via their overall deal at Universal Television. Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan will also executive produce via their studio based TBD Productions banner.
The deal brings Siegal and Morgan back to NBC, where they served as co-exec producers on Universal Television’s 30 Rock. They shared in the show’s 2011, ’12 and ’13 comedy series Emmy nominations. Siegal and Morgan are repped by UTA and attorney Mitch Smelkinson.
This marks the second sale of the season for Traugott and Kaplan’s TBD, which also has a marriage comedy set up at Fox, with The Mindy Project’s Charlie Grandy attached to write. TBD is repped by UTA and Ken Richman.
The untitled comedy comes as witchy fare has seen a renaissance on the small screen with Lifetime’s Witches of East End (which is awaiting word on a third season), last season’s American Horror Story: Coven and WGN America’s Salem, the latter of which was already renewed for a second run.
