STOCKTON-

Two burned bodies were discovered in a Stockton backyard on Sunday, police say.

According to the Stockton Police Department, officers received a call just before 5 p.m. about two bodies being discovered on West Sonora Street near the Ort J. Lofthus Freeway.

When officers arrived they found a dead couple burned in the backyard of a home.

Police say the boyfriend beat his estranged girlfriend, then set her body as well as his own on fire.

The suspect was just arrested on November 26th for violating a restraining order. He was also charged with weapons and pot grow offenses.

He reportedly violated that restraining order twice after the arrest, and the couple had a history of domestic violence.
