        Morning, Fred.

I've got Smokey songs on the radio right now. How could things be anything but terrific?

          Mornin' Jim,
This weekend 45 years ago, I think I was in the family car, stuck in traffic on the thruway, on our way to Trout Lake near Lake George.  I was 8, so my memory's not too good, but I believe what was supposed to be the celebration of the flower child generation that was causing that traffic jham turned out instead to be its swan song, while meanwhile on the west coast, two young bands were playing together that same weekend: Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull.  Long live rock.

          Cheers,
          Ed

              Ed -
45 years ago NEXT weekend, I was at my grandparents' home in the Poconos listening to some of my older relatives go off on all the mud-covered kids who were making their way back home from the festival.  Apparently they figured it was easier to go through Pennsylvania rather than deal with the New York State Thruway again.
