To paraphrase an old saying, dying is easy, but sketch comedy is hard. However, this year’s Oscar-nominated actors clearly know a thing or two about landing a punchline.
Seven of the 2015 nominees have previously hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live, with Whiplash baddie J.K. Simmons bringing the tally to eight this weekend. (Laura Dern and Robert Duvall haven’t hosted but have made cameos.)
Below are seven memorable SNL sketches, each one featuring a different 2015 Oscar nominee. Here’s hoping each thespian can remain as upbeat as they are in these videos if their names aren’t called out Feb. 22 at the Dolby Theatre.

The Birdman actress is a two-time host, but one of her most memorable sketches, seen below, came when her Amazing Spider-Man co-star (and real-life boyfriend) Andrew Garfield hosted in 2014. In the sketch, the two clearly have kissing issues.
Keaton, who hosted in 1982 and 1992, realizes he can’t manage without cue cards, so it’s up to Eddie Murphy to help him out.

He made his only hosting stint in 2013, which included a pitch-perfect send up of Wes Anderson films, done as a horror trailer.
The Still Alice star hosted back in 1998, and her monologue referenced the Oscars when she discussed her nomination that year for Boogie Nights. Also showing up in the segment was Cheri Oteri, playing Gloria Stuart (Titanic), a fellow nominee.
He hosted in 2009 but has made cameos in two episodes since then, including this 2011 Weekend Update appearance, where Nic Cage (Andy Samberg) expressed his dismay at not appearing in The Hangover 2.
The Wild star hosted the show’s first episode following 9/11, which offered the actress an opportunity to deliver a punchline that involved the word “balls.”
This monologue shows the Foxcatcher actor, who has hosted twice and also provided one of the voices for the Ambiguosly Gay Duo, losing his cool and needing his real-life wife’s support.
