If you don’t plan how can you even dream of achieving? All successful marketers, entrepreneurs and business builders set grand plans. Yes, we don’t always meet those lofty expectations 100%, but when you shoot for the stars… you may just land on the moon.
But what’s the right way of planning… is there even a right way?
Think of planning in the context that the closer you get to the present time, the more detail you need. As an example, your 7-year vision is “a franchise in every state capital”.
Your 12-month plan would have the plans for the quantity of each type of product you want to sell in each location and how you’re going to do it, and your 1–week plan would have the specific revenue goals, proposals to write and deals to close this week. And tomorrow’s plan? Your to–do list.
When you think of planning this way every item on tomorrow’s to–do list suddenly gains relevance (or not) relative to your long–term vision and you will see how each is interconnected to fulfil your vision
