CBS kicked off its new new Monday lineup last night. With The Big Bang Theory moving back to Thursday, 2 Broke Girls opened the block in the 8:00 p.m. time slot —the longtime home of How I Met Your Mother.
The comedy averaged a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.7 million viewers. Compared to its most recent premiere, which aired at 9 p.m. last September, the series was down just four-tenths of a point in the key demo in its live-plus same day showing. (The network projects a 36 percent improvement once live-plus-seven ratings arrive.)
Without the Big Bang lead-in, The Millers fell three-tenths of a point from last week’s premiere, averaging a 1.8 rating in the demo. As for Scorpion, it held up well with a 2.2 rating among adults under 50 (off two tenths). NCIS: LA (1.6 adults) held steady.
NBC led the night, and both The Voice (3.6 adults) and The Blacklist (2.6 adults) improved by two-tenths of a point from last Monday. Gotham held steady on Fox, pulling a 2.2 adults rating, while Sleepy Hollow (1.6 adults) lost two-tenths of a point.
Over on ABC, which saw NFL preemption on the football-friendly Dallas affiliate, Dancing With the Stars (2.1) held steady — though Castle (1.9) improved four-tenths of a point.
Jane the Virgin ticked down again. The series, which averaged a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49, has lost a tenth of a point with its second and third episodes. The Originals (0.6 adults) held steady.
