Months after initial news of a delay in the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, Rocksteady Studios has announced a new official release date for the final game in its critically-acclaimed Batman: Arkham series — as well as multiple editions to make the wait until June 2, 2015 that little bit more agonizing.
Originally scheduled for release this October, Rocksteady revealed that it would be delayed in June, with marketing manager Guy Perkins saying that the studio needed more time to “make [the game] as great as it possibly can be.” A new release date was finally announced on Monday morning, via Twitter:

In addition to the release date, Rocksteady tweeted out details of two limited editions of the game, both of which come with extra material including limited edition packaging, a special DC Entertainment comic book, and additional book filled with concept art from the series: the Batmobile Edition, which also includes a “transforming statue” of Batman’s favorite ride, and the Limited Edition, which includes a statue of the Dark Knight himself, glowering over all he surveys.
In case you need a reminder of why the game is likely to merit this kind of attention, take a look at the two amazing trailers released for the game to date. Suddenly, June 2015 will seem so very far away.
