SACRAMENTO-

Kings fans have been cheering since long before they really had anything to cheer for.

Now, they do.

“Who would have thought? Everyone was predicting we would be 0-and-7,” said season ticket holder Rob Sperling.

Instead, after dropping their season opener, they went on a tear winning 5 of their first 6 games.

So Sperling and a group of other fans gathered at Easy on I in Midtown to watch the Kings take on Oklahoma City.

“We’re having a hot start. We’re playing some good ball. There’s just excitement everywhere,” said fan, Curtis Williams.

It’s the Kings’ best start since 2001. And going into Sunday, they had 3 straight wins on the road. That’s something they’ve never done before to start the season.

The streak ended Sunday, and the Kings came up short against Oklahoma City. But if you’ve heard of a pyrrhic victory, this was pyrrhic loss if ever there was one.

The Kings have already accomplish more in this young season, than anyone imagined.

“Just the start. It gives us inspiration to keep on cheering,” said Adriana Ortiz, of Elk Grove.
