SACRAMENTO-

The Carmichael woman accused of dog torture appeared in court Tuesday morning.

Kayla Wright’s case was continued to Jan. 20 for a bail review.

Wright was arrested Jan. 8 after detectives say they saw surveillance video of Wright putting a dead dog in a garbage can.

She is also accused of wrapping a cord around dogs’ necks and taping their muzzles shut.

FOX40 broke the story of two missing dogs, named Tiny and Boo-Boo, who were later returned home after a Good Samaritan saw the story on TV.

Wright was previously charged in a misdemeanor drug case out of Placer County, which is still active.

Wright is charged with grand theft of an animal and animal torture.
