Arrow is adding another Spartacus alum to its stable.
Nick Tarabay has joined the third season of The CW comic-book drama in a recurring role, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. He will appear in the seventh and eighth episodes, the latter serving as part of a two-hour Arrow and The Flash crossover event.
Tarabay has been cast as Digger Harkness, also known as DC villain Captain Boomerang. In the comics, Captain Boomerang is an enemy of The Flash, has ties to the Suicide Squad and uses a specialized boomerang as his weapon of choice. When he debuts on Arrow, he will be an ex-ARGUS operative, who is skilled in martial arts and espionage, with a thirst for vengeance against his former employers, as EW first reported.
Tarabay, who played Ashur on the Starz series, is the latest Spartacus grad to board the Arrow universe, joining the likes of Manu Bennett, who plays Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, and Katrina Law, who is Nyssa al Ghul.
He is the latest addition to an Arrow guest cast that includes Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable), the Atom/Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Thea’s new love interest (Austin Butler), Wildcat/Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), Felicity’s mother (Charlotte Ross), Maseo (Karl Yune), Katana (Rila Fukushima), a new Count Vertigo (Peter Stormare), Felicity’s college ex (Nolan Funk) and Mark Shaw/Manhunter (David Cubitt).
Tarabay, whose other credits include Star Trek Into Darkness, TV’s Crash and The Sopranos, is repped by Abrams Artists and manager Brian Meadavoy. Arrow returns Oct. 8 on The CW.
