SACRAMENTO-

A big rig crashed and burst into flames on I-5 north on Wednesday. According to CHP, the accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. Firefighters extinguished the flames, but the truck is still in the center of the freeway.

Screenshot_2014-09-18-16-49-15The big rig hit the center divider, then caught fire and overturned. The driver was delivering clothes from Lathrop to Woodland; he is okay.

Northbound lanes are shutdown just north of Sutterville Road near the US-50 connector. Traffic is being diverted to Highway 50.

CHP is still investigating what caused the crash, and estimate lanes will be back open around 8 or 9 p.m.
