GALT-

It’s a way for the City of Galt to honor those who have fallen serving the city.

The group “Community Heroes Appreciation Memorial Project,” are in the middle of fundraising in hopes of securing about $150,000 to build the memorial outside of the city hall.

The project is the work of Lynn Hutchinson and others who were inspired after the death of former Galt Police Officer Kevin Tonn who was killed in the line of duty in January of 2013.

“Losing a son is painful, but being Christians we know we will be together someday,” Kevin’s father, Will Tonn, told FOX40.

The concept designs for the memorial were done by Galt High School Students.

“We wanted to do them justice,” Mason Holland, who has now graduated from the school, said.
