The Korean American National Museum has moved "nearly a half-dozen times" since 2000, so it's probably eager to get moving on the construction of its permanent home in the heart of Koreatown, on the site of a parking lot at the southwest corner of Vermont and Sixth. Building LA has scoped out the rejiggered details for the museum celebrating Korean American culture, which now include some new housing for the desirable neighborhood. Initially proposed as a three-story building, new plans now call for a structure with five floors and 101 apartments over two stories of museum space. The seven-story building is also set to include a "community auditorium," a pair of exhibitions halls, and study space; KANM also wants to build a three-level garage with space for 146 cars.
