SACRAMENTO-
An employee with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation was one of five people arrested in a large-scale pot bust Wednesday in Sacramento.
Wednesday, officers served warrants at six different homes and found 617 marijuana plants, 248 pounds of processed pot, a number of guns and $5,000 in cash.
Eddie Lay, of the Corrections Department, was booked into jail for cultivation of marijuana for sale. Police say more charges may be added as the investigation goes on.
Sacramento Police say they worked with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and the Corrections Department during an 8-month investigation.
Tommy Su, Phu Su, Michael Su and Vich Nguyen were also all arrested on drug charges. Nguyen was also booked on a child endangerment charge.
