STOCKTON-

Friday night crowds filled the Stockton Arena for the “Golden State Music Festival.”

Two people were shot, in separate incidents after leaving the concert. Stockton police say around 1:15 a.m. Saturday, a 33-year-old woman was shot while walking from the arena to her car on West Freemont Street. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

35 minutes later, police say a car drove up and fired shots at three people who had also just left the concert. Cops say a 15-year-old was struck and taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

Stockton police are not sure if the two shootings were related.

Saturday the Northern California Artists Guild held a mixer for the community at Dentoni park in North Stockton. Many at the event were also at Friday night’s concert.

“I seen the cop lights fly by and it’s that aura in the air when you knew something was wrong,” said local artist Ncredable, who performed at the Golden State Music Fest. He and others tell FOX40 they are sick of seeing violence in Stockton.

“100% not associated with the concert I just think you had some bad people doing bad things in the area,” said music promoter Willie Collins.

The president of the Northern California Music Guild is hoping to inspire young people in Stockton to turn to music instead of violence.

“What we’re gonna be doing is bringing music dance back into Stockton. Pick up an instrument and out the gun down,” said Rayshaun Townsend.

No arrests have been made in either shooting.
