WEST SACRAMENTO-
Two lanes of westbound Interstate 80 in West Sacramento at West Capitol Avenue were blocked Friday evening by a crash involving seven cars.
Investigators say the crash was likely caused by an elderly driver who may not have seen cars in front of him slow down, and rear-ended a car.
The man had some type of medical emergency, but it’s unknown if it had anything to do with the crash.
That crash caused three others in a chain reaction, according to the CHP.
The elderly man was originally thought to have died from the crash, but CHP later said he was just unconscious.
The crash was first reported by the CHP just after 6 p.m. The roadway was cleared less than two hours later.
