Laurel may have met her match.
The Hollywood Reporter exclusively premieres a scene from Wednesday’s Arrow, which marks the first time Laurel (Katie Cassidy) meets Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), also known as Wildcat.

Initially what brings Laurel in to Ted’s Wild Cat gym is an open case in Starling City’s district attorney’s office. A witness to a break-in puts one of Ted’s students at the scene of the crime; loyal to a fault, Ted covers it up. “Are you admitting to perjury, Mr. Grant?” an angry Laurel asks. “Now that’s a big word. … I’m just a dumb fighter. Right?” Ted fires back.
Priorities begin to shift when Ted senses that she may benefit from some outward aggression. Their chance meeting can’t come at a more opportune time.

“She does have a lot of anger. She has a lot of issues,” Cassidy told THR recently. “[Ted] is there for her to get some of that physical rage and emotional side of her that she needs to release.”
As the scene unfolds, it’s clear the two aren’t going to be friends anytime soon.
“They butt heads at first, but I do think he sees a survivor and a warrior and an athlete in her,” the actress said of Laurel and Ted’s first interaction. “For the most part, he takes her under his wing. ‘I can help you but you’re going to have to learn the basics. You can’t just start lashing out at people. If you really want to do this, you’ve got to really train.’ “
Arrow airs 8 p.m. Wednesdays on The CW.
