SACRAMENTO —
Detectives with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a homicide which occurred late Monday evening.
Deputies received several reports of gunfire around 8 p.m. along Church Avenue near Bell Street. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered a black man in his mid-20s who had been shot.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have begun a preliminary scene assessment and initial witness interviews. The motive for the shooting is not yet known and a description of the person or persons responsible is not available.
Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
