CARMICHAEL –

Judith Andre and neighbor Donna Berg woke up to a loud crash around 4 a.m.

“It sounded like a car ran into the hill across the street,” Andre said.

It wasn’t across the street though. A red sedan landed just feed away from Andre’s bed, and right in her pool.

“At first, it was murky enough that you couldn’t even see the car,” Andre said.

And she feared the worst.

“I was afraid they were going to pull up a car with a bunch of bodies,” Andre said.

Firefighters came and made sure everyone made it out safely.

CHP says the 17-year-old daughter of the registered owner came back for the car later in the morning.

She said a random person stole her car keys at a party and drove off with it.

A tow truck eventually pulled the car out.

Along with chunks of the fence, a bottle of rum, a soaked pink folder and backpack were also pulled out of the pool.

Pieces of the car still floated at the bottom of the pool floor hours later.

“I can see some scrapes at the bottom of the pool here. Drivers side mirror there,” said Berg.

As for Andre, she has a lot of help from neighbors and she’s looking at the brighter side

“What can you do, I gotta laugh about it. There’s not much you can do about it,” said Andre.
