DirecTV has lined up another all-star cast for the second-season drama Full Circle.
Joining the 10-episode series about a group of people whose lives are intertwined are Lost’s Terry O’Quinn, Stacy Keach (Nebraska), Chris Bauer (True Blood), Rita Wilson (Girls, The Good Wife), Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect), Patrick Fugit (Gone Girl), David Koechner (Anchorman 2), Calista Flockhart (Brothers and Sisters), Eric McCormack (Perception) and Kate Burton (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy), The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
See more Faces of Fall 2014
Season two centers on Jimmy Parerra (O’Quinn), a Chicago cop who, 18 years ago, inspired by Frank Serpico’s similar act in New York, blew the whistle on police corruption in Chicago. That resulted in sending his own father-in-law, Bud O’Rourke (Keach), the chief of detectives, to federal prison for life.
Season two begins as Bud is getting out of prison, intent on revenge. As in season one, each episode takes place in one location — in this case, an Irish bar in Chicago — and focuses on a conversation between two characters intimately involved in Jimmy and Bud’s story.
Just like in its first season, one character from the previous episode moves into the next episode and will be paired with a new character. However, season two will expand the story beyond the Irish bar and will also take place in the offices conducting the FBI sting operation. Bud’s visitors at the state penitentiary before his release will also be depicted.
Bauer will play Jimmy’s ex-partner, Richie. Wilson is Jimmy’s ex-wife and Bud’s daughter, Shelly; Snow is Jimmy’s daughter, Katie; Fugit is Jimmy’s son, Paulie; Koechner is Paulie’s cop partner, Phil. Flockhart will play Ellen, the new face of the mob; McCormack is FBI agent Ken; and Burton is Ken’s boss, Vera.
Season two of Full Circle will be written by Keith Huff (Mad Men, House of Cards and ABC’s upcoming John Ridley drama American Crime). His play, A Steady Rain, starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig, recently debuted on Broadway. Full Circle is executive produced and directed by Nick Hamm (Rogue) for Momentum TV. Huff will also exec produce the series.
Season one of Full Circle attracted stars including Bones‘ David Boreanaz, Private Practice‘s Kate Walsh, Harry Potter‘s Tom Felton, The Killing‘s Billy Campbell, Friday Night Lights‘ Minka Kelly and Nip/Tuck‘s Julian McMahon, among others.
Filming will begin in Los Angeles for a premiere on DirecTV’s Audience in spring 2015.
